ALONG THE ROAD Robert Browning HamiltonI walked a mile with Pleasure; She chattered all the way,But left me none the wiserFor all she had to sayI walked a mile with SorrowAnd ne'er a word said she;But oh, the things I learned from herWhen Sorrow walked with me! *********************************************************** A POEM JUST FOR ME Roger McGoughWhere am I now when I need meSuddenly where have I gone?I'm so alone here without meTell me please what have I done?Once I did most things togetherI went for walks hand in handI shared my life so completelyI met my every demand.Tell me I'll come back tomorrowI'll keep my arms open wideTell me that I'll never leave meMy place is here at my side.Maybe I've simply mislaid meLike an umbrella or a keySo until the day that I come my wayHere is a poem just for me. *********************************************************** THE STREET Portia Nelson
I walk down the street, There's a deep hole in the pavement, I fall in. I am lost ....... I am hopeless. It isn't my fault, It takes forever to find a way out.
I walk down the same street, There is a deep hole in the pavement, I pretend I don't see it, I fall in again. I can't believe I am in the same place. But it isn't my fault, It still takes a long time to get out.
I walk down the same street, There is a deep hole in the pavement, I see it is there. I still fall in ..... it's a habit. My eyes are open, I know where I am. It is my fault. I get out immediately.
I walk down the same street, There is a deep hole in the pavement, I walk round it.
I walk down another street. *********************************************************** "Nothing we can do can change the past, but everything we do changes the future."
